Stucatto collection
The Stucatto wallpaper collection brings together a series of 3D wallpapers in which the refinement and elegance found in the French architecture of the 18th century are intertwined with modern drawing techniques. Each model praises the beauty that abounds in luxurious elements that are characteristic of the Rococo and Baroque styles, rendering them with the help of a royal color palette. The Stucatto wallpaper collection invites you to walk, with brave and curious steps, on the land of a story detached from reality. Although you’ve never been here before, the atmosphere will make you feel at home. The world you are about to enter emanates a glamorous radiance, full of the naturalness of those who live at the royal court. Keep yourself immersed in the pleasant languor of dreaming. Your thoughts are carried away by a few shy notes. Then, louder and louder, the chords of a waltz become the dizzying background of the story of the Stucatto castle, the land that best describes the atmosphere our models create.
VLAdiLA’s designers got their inspiration from the architectural, artistic and decorative elements found in the most famous palaces and castles in France. Guarded by impressive gardens, they hide the secrets of royalty, embedded in stone walls and marble floors, in paintings depicting the life of the nobles, in gilded rooms and windows framed by soft, velvety curtains. All these elements are surrounded by a contemporary aura, the wallpaper models being suitable for rooms with any type of decor: modern, minimalist, traditional, shabby chic, eclectic or glam. The color palette also supports the versatility of the collection. The models were made in colors such as beige, ivory and gray, ennobled by fine touches of gold, shades of blue, turquoise and burgundy, being suitable for every type of interior design.
As a stylistic area of interest, our artists were inspired by Baroque and its successor, Rococo. The first of these is known as the flowering period of the early seventeenth century, while the Rococo predominated the art of the eighteenth century. Both stylistic directions developed in France, later spreading throughout Europe and the Americas. The successor of the Renaissance art and Mannerism, Baroque, is an artistic direction that marked both architecture, painting, sculpture and the fields of music and theater. It opposes the austerity of classicism through an excess of ornamentation, exuberance, contrasts and deep colors, grandeur and surprise. Upon these are added bas-reliefs, overlapping ornaments, textures and agglomerations of materials. Rococo gathers all these elements and recreates them in an exaggerated, almost opulent style. Decorations, furniture, tapestries and paintings are no longer seen as a means of expression by which artists could convey moods and emotions, but as clues that make references to the rank and social status of the owners.
VLAdiLA’s Stucatto collection goes beyond the aesthetic attributions of this form of decoration, enveloping your home in a mysterious atmosphere, filled with elegance and refinement. The result is bringing ancient times into a present that becomes characterized by luxury and rich ornamental details. The Stucatto wallpaper collection includes patterns that are suitable to be mounted both on the walls and on the ceiling. Decorated this way, rooms are given a new dimension that is reminiscent of the interior of a castle. Thanks to the graphic simplicity through which the models were made, they manage to complement the decor, intertwining with textiles, pieces of furniture and the rest of the elements that can be found in the room. Unique in its approach to Baroque and Rococo styles, the Stucatto wallpaper collection resembles the notes of an ongoing waltz, whose rhythm vibrates inside the walls. If you get close and listen carefully, you might hear the chords of an old song, some lost, echoing footsteps, the humming of life at the royal court of the Stucatto Castle.
The name of the collection was made by using a combination of terms - Stucco and Staccato -, words with a symbolic substratum that is representative both for the visual aspect of the collection and for its associated story. Stucco appeals to the stylistic dimension of the collection. Our designers have used stucco as a specific and recurring element, as it represents an embossed architectural ornament that is mainly used in decorations enriched with ornaments specific to the Rococo style. In the past, they were made of plaster. Now, craftsmen also use polystyrene to create these types of ornaments. The design of the models often consists of plant elements, such as stylized flowers and leaves, geometric figures or abstract and wavy structured lace. In the original design, but also in the contemporary arrangements, stuccos are used in combination with other architectural elements, such as columns or cornices. They were also used for framing paintings, majestic arches or mirrors, creating a captivating structural element of decor.
The Stucatto wallpaper collection contains models that were created in the spirit of the two previously mentioned artistic styles, having stuccos as a central element. Designed with delicacy and love of beauty, the ornament offers an elevated depth to the walls and ceiling, creating the illusion of three-dimensionality. Regardless of the pattern, the wallpapers make any room look more spacious, infusing them with a sweet melancholy, with a noble, elegant and imposing aesthetic.
The second term that composes the name of the collection, Staccato, is a way of performing a musical composition, in which each note is separated from the others by short pauses. This technique was rendered by our artists at the compositional level. The models refer to the classic Rococo-style decor, but the richly ornamented details, expressive shapes and specific fancy elements are interwoven with minimalist, fundamentally contemporary backgrounds. Regarding the symbolism of the term, we invite you to discover the mystery of Stucatto Castle, a place where time and space are transformed, where the past and the present are eternally intertwined.
