Fine Lines Collection

The creative process guided us towards choosing a theme that is rich in references from the world of classical art, but playful and eccentric at the same time. We decided to highlight, as the focal points of the models, the elements that represent the scaffolding of any design: lines. VLAdiLA’s designers rendered them using a mix of fine brushes, pencil lines, intense marker touches or textured pastels. The color palette, complementary to the lines, highlights the artistic manifesto without eclipsing the main elements. We have used colors such as gray-beige, gray clay, shades of linen and chamois, with accents of navy blue, mustard yellow or mint green. We let ourselves ride the wave of creativity and admired with a childish curiosity the works of famous artists such as Picasso, Jean Cocteau, Georges Braque, Matisse, Basquiat or Mondrian. We started picturing the feeling of a soft breeze, or a sheer curtain whose folds are hiding lost whispers, a music box that creates delicate and discordant notes. A lazy ray in the afternoon emerges through the two French doors that are guarded by old, yellow frames. From there, it lies on linen carpet that witnessed hundreds of white nights and cool mornings. A dream. A spell. A fantasy.

For us, The Fine Lines collection represents a call to creativity. It is a resurrection of a naive and playful spirit and, at the same time, a bold expression of modern art and fashion, that tends towards a style of contemporary sumptuousness. The abstract spirit of The Fine Lines collection comes as the start of a cinematic plot. The seemingly chaotic lines reveal an animated and colorful vision. A hot bustle, a hum of amalgamated voices, a mixture of strong feelings, curiosity, ecstasy and emotion. Anthropomorphic figures merge and transform with every glance. The design is inspired by a dynamic scene, with expressionist forms; a rich but balanced color palette, with shades of dusty sage green and mustard yellow, with red accents, all on a textured beige-gray background. The style makes all drawings become pictorial narratives, like a mural that is illustrated in pastels.

Fine Lines - art, playfulness and sophistication

The Fine Lines collection celebrates the complexity of simple things. The line, seen as the scaffolding of any design due to its simplicity and delicacy, is transformed and reinvented with each variation. We chose to focus on a neutral color palette and highlight the models of this collection by outline and sketch. We were inspired by the richness of details and flourishes of ornamental stucco: an allegorical architectural element in terms of classic design, full of history and luscious shades, often being used in noble interiors. We chose to highlight stuccos through the simplicity of our sketches. We believe that this element is seen as remarkable due to its noble status and its creation process that is artisanal and spectacular. The Stucograph Stucco model was designed with the idea of ennobling the ceiling of a room whose design is inspired by the classic, easily passing through a contemporary filter. The centerpiece, the fine outline of a grandiose stucco, has a cement-like texture in the background - harmoniously illustrating the association of the two styles. The textured background stands through small, realistic details, irregularities and cracks, without overshadowing the central motif. The stucco, although it is outlined in a very delicate manner, is highlighted by the contrast between its rounded, harmonious details and the rigid-looking background.

Wallpapers like a piece of art

Our wallpapers are both hand-painted - with oil and acrylic colours - and digitally drawn, using graphic tablets. Because we like to be versatile and offer our customers options that fit their stylistic needs and budget, our portfolio includes wallpapers that can be printed on three different materials and textures:

  • Smooth - matte, even and soft to the touch
  • Canvas - creates the illusion of a life-size painting
  • Linen - luxurious, fabric-like texture

This way, our wallpapers become a full, 360° sensorial experience through their impressive visual mastery and the dream-like dimensions. Our love and respect for nature exudes from the use of natural, ecological and biodegradable materials. This is why we manufacture wallpapers that have a Vlies base: a non-woven material that offers supreme durability and makes the products easy to install.
